Picture Challenge #13

Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist.

I have two bands that have made huge impacts on my life.  First:

Dave and I have been friends for a while.  From Remember Two Things back when I was in high school, to his live albums, Dave always has a song that fits my mood.  My heart was broken with the passing of founding member and saxophone player LeRoi Moore. My favorite Dave song of all time has to be:

Next and my most favorite:

Bart and the gang of MercyMe have helped me get through some of the most challenging times of my life.  Just when I think I can't go anymore, MercyMe helps me remember that God will always be there for me.  The light of the Lord shines through them in song and I will never forget the first time I saw them live.  My hands were lifted up almost the entire time. Thank you MercyMe for keeping The Word in my heart!

Picture Challenge #10

Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the silliest things with.

"You don't need someone to be silly with" is what my husband just said.  But being silly with my girls makes it even more fun.  I'm pretty silly with all of my friends, but there are three special people who I am the SILLIEST with.  I couldn't pick just one of them, because I have many moments with all of them that rank a 10 on the silly scale!

First is my Stephanie.
Steph and I are sorority sisters and just all around crazy when we get together.  She helped dye my hair ORANGE, we had many "mentos moments" (see above), we have pranked many people, we took over her now husband's apartment and had a slumber party, and we have a mutual love for U2!  This picture is from the last summer we spent together before she moved to the Chicago area with her wonderful hubby and now she has two beautiful children who I am sure will be just as awesome, fun and silly as she is!

Next, my Ashley.
Good heavens at the silly times we've had.  The night we laid in my kitchen floor having giggle fits, computer chatting (please tell me you know what I'm talking about...which I'm sure you do), and many, many nights talking to the wee hours of the morning with a mixture of crying and giggling so hard at stupid people.

And finally my cousin Jessica.
She is the closest I have to a sister, so needless to say we have had our silly times.  Jess...remember this??

Long story short...we were sitting in Destin, FL waiting for a table at our favorite restaurant and after over 1 hour we were pretty delirious and made up a little dance to this song.  Or this.....

I can't even begin to describe why this song makes us silly...just listen to the end of the lyrics and imagine us yelling at the top of our lungs in the car "DON'T TURN OFF THE LIIIIIIIIGHTS"

I love all of my friends, but life wouldn't be half as fun without the silliness of these three ladies.

Picture Challenge #9

Day 9 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.

This was an easy choice...
My mom.  She has been there for me for 33 years and helped me through everything.  She is my best friend, knows the most about me, and loves me no matter what I do or what I say.  I don't know where I would be without her.  I love you!!!

Weekly Challenge from A Bowl Full of Lemons

Picture Challenge #8

Day 8 - A picture that makes you laugh.

I couldn't decide on just one, so here are two that I crack up at every time I see them.

Daily Picture Challenge #7

Day 7 - A picture of your most treasured item.

I'm a very sentimental person.  I have a number of things that I treasure just as much as the next, but THIS is my most treasured.
(They haven't been cleaned recently...they will sparkle much better cleaned!)

Cleaning Schedule?! Is That Necessary?

Yes, it is necessary and I am THAT much of a dilly-dallier that I have to make myself a cleaning schedule.  This is not a schedule for everyday cleaning like making beds, picking up toys, washing dishes, etc.  This is for the deep cleaning that I always seem to put off and let pile up until I do not want to touch it with a hazmat suit and industrial strength bleach.  I mean really...I hate to clean and it is my main job (other than taking care of my precious boy).  So, to keep myself accountable with not just me but with my entire family, I have made a cleaning schedule.

Picture Challenge Day 6

Day 6 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.

This one I had to think about for a while.  I would love to trade places with one of these starlet celebrities who have maids, nannies, personal shoppers, photo shop people who fix every picture, publicists.  The more I thought about it, I wouldn't want a life where I didn't know my child, couldn't clean the messes he and my husband make, couldn't buy my own milk and no one knew what the real me looked like. I would trade places with:

The beautiful Beth Moore.  I would love to be the one who impacts the lives of millions of women and men and knows just what to say and how to say it.  To live a life with such devotion to our Lord that it shines through even her smile.  I want people to be able to look at me the way I look at her, to see Christ in everything I do.  I would love to trade places with her, but more importantly, I want to live my life LIKE her.

Meet my friend Sam!

Kelly's Korner has posted Show Us Your Life - Show Us Your Singles. She did this back in July and there are two engaged couples from this sweet gesture she created.  With that said, I would like to introduce you all to my dear friend Sam.

Picture Challenge Day #5

Day 5 - A picture of your favorite memory.

Goodness I have so many favorite memories.  Family memories, high school memories, cheerleading memories, college and Phi Mu memories, but this has to be my favorite.

My sweet new baby boy, hooked up to IVs, oxygen and a feeding tube holing on to my finger.  He was such the little fighter and still is.

Picture Challenge #4

Day 4 - A picture of something you wish you could forget.

I must say...there are not many things I regret in life.  I believe everything happens for a reason.  But THIS is something I will never ever forget.

YIKES!  The poofy shoulders, the nude hose, the dyed shoes, the big hair, and the wedding bouquet that actually had pieces of my sequin dress in it.  I attended 4 proms and this has to be the worst dress ever.  I would LOVE to forget it but alas...never will.

I love.....

...my label maker.  That is all.

Picture Challenge Day 3

Day 3 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show.

This is a hard one.  There are shows that rank up at the top.  Big Love, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs (let us take a moment of silence for the passing of Scrubs......), Project Runway, Sesame Street (tee hee)...

But my favorite has to be.....

Yes friends, I am a Gleek.  I LOVE GLEE!  The music! The characters!  The actors! The guest stars! The situations! The drama!  THE SUE!  I will sing along, cry along, and dance along with the characters.  I feel like they are my friends and it hurts to see them hurt.  Thank you Ryan Murphy for creating my favorite show!!

Challenge #17 - The Mail Station

Challenge#17 is The Mail Station.  Our mail station is just the small counter in our kitchen and it always looks HORRIBLE since we just toss the mail on it.  So you know the drill now....before picture:

Day 2 - A picture of you and the person you are closest to

I couldn't post a picture with just one person. These are the PEOPLE I am closest to. My parents, my husband and son.

Challenge #16 - Cleaning out the Fridge

So I'm playing catch up and decided I would start with the easiest of what I need to catch up on: Challenge #16 - the refrigerator.

Another Challenge? Okay!

At least this one is easy and maybe I won't get behind (like I am on the organization challenge...but will catch up on that tonight hopefully).  My PM Sister Bekah posted this one and it seems like a lot of fun!  And here we go!

Day 1 - A picture of yourself with fifteen facts.

Fact 1: I'm a procrastinator.  Duh.
Fact 2: I LOVE being a mom. I never knew it would be this much fun!
Fact 3: I'm a child of the 80's so don't debate me about the music or movies from the 80's. I will always win.
Fact 4: I just started kickboxing.  What was I thinking?!
Fact 5: I have an unhealthy addiction to Sports Center.
Fact 6: I'm still a sorority girl at heart.
Fact 7: I have a baker's rack FULL of cookbooks and I have only 3 I use.
Fact 8: I watch Sesame Street sometimes when my child isn't even home. I love Cookie Monster!
Fact 9: I love antiques. My husband hates them. It makes furniture shopping interesting!
Fact 10: I can change my own tire (and have had to do it MULTIPLE times...my tires are nail magnets).
Fact 11: I can't bring myself to eat the last cookie/cracker/chip in the bag/pack...but then get mad when my husband eats it!
Fact 12: We were married barefoot on the beach. I wouldn't change it for the world.
Fact 13: I miss my Mom, Dad, family and my BFFs Ashley and Stephanie more than words can say!  I wish I could see them EVERY day!
Fact 14: I have been to Walt Disney World more times than I can count on both hands and did NOT grow up in Florida.  I just LOVE that place!

Challenge #10 - The Laundry Room

Smile!

Challenge #13 & #15 - Medicine Cabinet

Challenge #13 is the Medicine Cabinet and Challenge #15 is organizing the Medicine.  I had a pretty good idea this would be like the spice cabinet...I would find expired medicine we had not taken in years.

Challenge #12 - The Spice Cabinet

So today I have done Challenge #12.  I STILL have not gotten to challenge 10 the Laundry Room...but I will promise I will try to get it tomorrow.  Challenge #12 is the spice cabinet.  Mine was a mess (which should be no surprise).

A MAJOR Accomplishment

The snow has done ONE good thing for me.  Since we've been snowed in and I didn't think to get daily rations of my beloved Dr. Pepper, I am over soft drinks!  Tuesday night and yesterday were baaaaaaad days.  My headache from lack of caffeine was off the charts.  You know when you go to a hospital and they ask you to rank your pain 1-10 with 10 being unbearable?  I was at a 15.  I believe I looked like this:

I was PITIFUL.  But now here is the good news.  I am OVER IT!  I feel GREAT and I don't feel like I'm going to have a crack addict withdrawal over my soft drinks.  Maybe this snow was a good thing after all.

Enough dilly-dallying.  I MUST get started on the laundry room!

Challenge #11 - The Freezer

This one was a quick and easy one for me, so I will be attempting to tackle challenge # 10 The Laundry Room all day today (and once you see my before pictures, you will understand why this is an ALL day thing!  YIKES).

Here is my link up!

So my freezer wasn't so bad!  With the new fridge we got this summer, I have kept it pretty organized.  Here are the before pictures:

Challenge #8 - The Coat Closet

So yes, I've gone out of order, but that is okay!  I can do that (at least that is what I'm telling myself).  So here we go, Challenge #8 - The Coat Closet.

Linking up here!
So this was a good one for me.  My coat closet was in desperate need of rescue.  Now let me start by saying I did not touch the top of the closet.  That is where some of my Christmas decorations live for 10 1/2 months and I just put them away and they are organized in their correct boxes.  With that said.....

The Queen for a Reason....

But this time, I have a GOOD excuse for dilly-dallying!  We have been snowed in since Sunday night.  I hear you my northern friends...this is just silly over a little southern snow.  Well honey....I haven't seen anything like this in my lifetime.

It's Finally Here!

Snow is falling!  School is canceled!  Waking up the small fry in just a little bit so he can see it coming down and tell him NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!

Pictures to come tomorrow.

Playroom Overhaul and Challenge # 9

Light Bob the Minion has something important to say!  His master's playroom has been overhauled!  So here's how it all went down:

How was MY day you ask?

Good HEAVENS this has been a LONG day!

What made it so long?  Here is our day in a nutshell:

7:00 - wake up (yes, on a Saturday....)
8:00 - First Upwards Basketball game.  What is Upwards Basketball you ask?  Well click HERE to find out!  Great time had by all, except for the burned biscuit coming from the kitchen that smoked up the entire gym.  Seriously it was a black, charred rock.  How does that even happen?

Today's challenge, the dresser drawers, has already been done in my house before Christmas.  Since our drawers have mostly unmentionables, there will be NO pictures of this challenge today.  Sorry to disappoint you.  However, I can promise you my "drawers" are neat and organized and we'll leave it at that.  I plan on finishing the playroom today, so look for that post this evening!

In the meantime, I leave you with this.  3 more days!  WAR EAGLE!

A Bowl Full of Lemons has a daily organization challenge that I am going to participate in. Jump on over to her blog to join in the fun! Check back daily to see the progress I make on the house!!

Challenge #5 was getting under the kitchen sink.  Oh boy.  Not one I was looking forward to.  It wasn't a HUGE mess, I just hated getting under there.  So here is my before picture.

Trying a Different "Recipe"

So in my grocery store journey today I found this little spice pack which looked interesting.
McCormick Recipe Inspirations Rosemary Roasted Chicken with potatoes (I left out the potatoes).
